Three Indian nationals suspected to be part of a banned Sikh extremist group on Interpol's Red Notice watchlist were caught off guard during a joint operation by Philippine government agencies. The Philippine Bureau of Immigration, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), and the Military Intelligence Group coordinated the operation and arrested the suspects in Iloilo. Manpreet Singh, Amritpal Singh, and Arshdeep Singh are on the Interpol Red Notice watchlist and face charges for murder, violation of the Explosive Substances Act 2001, and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967 of India. The suspects entered the country using fake passports but were tracked down by experts from the CICC. The suspects are also being investigated for their alleged ties to another terror group, the Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF). India recently banned both JKGF and the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), which aims to revive terrorism in Punjab. The successful operation shows the importance of proper and speedy coordination between government agencies to prevent foreign terrorists from setting foot in the country.
