Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), an Indian government-owned shipbuilding firm, has set sail towards the European market with the construction of six multi-purpose vessels for HS Schiffahrts Group, a German client. The shipbuilding process was initiated with a 'steel cutting' ceremony where the shipbuilder and the client started a laser cutter to cut the steel sheet that will be used on the vessel's hull. CSL has also received orders to build eight such vessels in total. The Ice Class Vessels measure 110 metres in length and 16.5 metres in breadth, and have a carrying capacity of 7,000 tons. They will be built under DNV Classification and meet all the latest safety, quality, energy efficiency and performance requirements. The construction of these high-quality vessels for clients worldwide showcases CSL's expertise and capabilities in shipbuilding.
