The Dalai Lama recently participated in a global Buddhist conference hosted by India, addressing delegates from 30 countries, including monks, scholars, practitioners, and heads of Buddhist organizations. Despite concerns over his health and recent controversy, the Dalai Lama was able to attend and share his insights on the cultivation of compassion, wisdom, and courage in times of crisis.

During his address, the Dalai Lama spoke about how developing inner qualities such as compassion and wisdom can lead to greater courage and resilience, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges. He also emphasized the importance of taking the Buddha's teachings seriously and applying them to our daily lives.

The two-day summit, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saw the adoption of a declaration calling for a focus on addressing global challenges and offering a sustainable model for the future of the world. The conference also emphasized the need for environmental sustainability, peace, and access to Buddhist pilgrimage sites.

Over 170 delegates from foreign countries and 150 from India attended the conference, with the largest number of delegates coming from Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Notably, there were no participants from China.

This conference serves as an important platform for the global Buddhist community to come together and address pressing issues facing the world. The Dalai Lama's participation highlights the significance of cultivating compassion and wisdom as essential tools for building a better future.
